Mariyadhai starts rolling from today Posted: 08 Oct 2008 06:31 AM CDT Considering 'Aayudha Pooja' to be the auspicious day, the great hit making duo Vijayakanth-Vikraman will join hands after a long time. Yes, both of them together had churned out the greatest blockbuster titled 'Vaanathai Pola' before few years. However, Director Vikraman had to face the failures with his previous venture 'Chennai Kadhal' for it might have been too hard for him to deal with young peppy themes. Followed by the grand success of Saroja, T. Siva of Amma Creations produces this film. Well, both T. Siva and Vijayakanth are so close friends as they have earlier worked together for many films. In 'Mariyaadhai', Vijayakanth plays dual roles with Meera Jasmine and Meena in the female lead role. Vijay Antony scores music for the lyrics tuned by Pa. Vijay. Andrew cranks the camera while Rocky Rajesh would be choreographing for the stunts. |
Vikram’s work done with Kandasaamy Posted: 08 Oct 2008 06:28 AM CDT Vikram happens to be the busiest guy in the town of Kollywood for he has been roped into the biggies of all great directors. At present, he has completed shooting for Kandasaamy directed by Susi Ganeshan and now has geared up with Susi's mentor Mani Rathnam for the bilingual project. Scenes involving Vikram would be started canning from October 12 at thick forest regions across Chalakudi. Vikram had earlier completed his schedules with Susi Ganeshan and now scenes involving other actors in the film are being shot. A song sequence involving Shriya Charan is being shot now at Italy and so the entire team has fleeted to the exotic locations of the Country. With Devi Shri Prasad scoring music, Ekambaram has cranked the camera. Audio for the film would be launched somewhere before the end of this month… |
Vaaranam Aayiram may be banned! Posted: 08 Oct 2008 05:11 AM CDT The Hindu Makkal Katchi's Secretary Kannan has requested the Nadigar Sangam President Sarath Kumar to consider banning Divya from acting in Tamil films. According to Mr. Kannan, Divya, a Kannadiga, did not participate in the fasting organized by the Tamil film artistes, directors and producers on the Hogenakkal issue. On the contrary, she was present in thefasting held in Karnataka condemning the Tamils on the same issue. He added that the actress did not offer any explanation for her speech made during this fast. Kannan insisted that the Nadigar Sangam seek an explanation from her and until then her films should not be screened in Tamil Nadu. With this issue cropping up Vaaranam Aayiram may face some problems during its release. |
Producer’s plans for Sarath Kumar Posted: 08 Oct 2008 05:00 AM CDT The 100th day function of Vallamai Tharayo was held in Theagaraya Hall in Chennai. Sarath Kumar, Rama Narayanan, Visu, Srikanth, Chaya Singh, the film's director Madhumitha among others were some of guests present on the dais. The event started off with a pooja performed by pundits to the Amman idol placed on the dais. Producer Thrisakthi Sundar Raman revealed that plans are afoot to produce two films, which will be directed by Madhumitha. While one is slated to be of the comedy genre, another will be an action movie with Sarath Kumar in the lead. |

While this sentiment was prevalent even a decade ago, the fans' insistence grew out of proportion with the Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi declaring the launch of his political party Praja Rajyam recently. Rajini's fans in southern district have been creating a furor by pasting posters insisting that their star enter politics and save the state. Following this, Thirunavukkarasar, Member of Parliament, has said that Rajini should consider his fans' request. Will the superstar heed to their request? |

Aegan to inaugurate on Vijaya Dasami Posted: 08 Oct 2008 04:47 AM CDT Aegan the film being directed by Raju Sundaram with Ultimate Star Ajith and Nayanthara is getting ready for a Diwali release. This is a film being anticipated by Ajith's fans to a great extent. It has been said that Aegan is being inspired from Shah Rukh's Mein Hoon Na. Since the Aegan team is currently shooting in Switzerland, the audio of the film will be released in stores on 9th October, which happens to be Vijaya Dasami. Yuvan Shankar has scored music for the film and Kollywood circles feel that the music will be a hit among the audience. Ayngaran International has produced Aegan. |

The shooting of this movie is expected to commence sometime in the second week of October as planned earlier. The latest report on this film is that Mumaith Khan has been roped in to play an important role and will also do an item number. Veteran actress and danseuse Shobana has also been signed up to star pair up with Kamal Haasan. Interestingly, Shirya plays Kamal's wife and Trisha plays his lady love in the film. Sources have it that Kamal will appear in three different roles in the film. Recently Kamal held a photo shoot in a background filled with swords and artifacts from that period. More interestingly, Kamal will build seven sets for the film all over Chennai. |
