Sources from the Vettaikaran unit had mentioned that the movie would have a second heroine in addition to Anushka. We do not know the details of the role if it will be as important as Anushka's or not. The actress for this role had not been finalized until now, even after the movie got well into its second schedule of shooting. Now, there are reports that Madalasa, a new face may get the opportunity to star opposite Vijay. The lady is currently acting in her first film titled Kadhalukku Maranam Illai produced by
K.T. Kunjumon along with Meera Nandan from Kerala. Talks are on with Madalasa but nothing has been finalized yet. If this opportunity materializes, it would be great for the actress' fledgling career because new faces rarely get opportunities to star opposite top stars of Kollywood.

Indian Cinema has arrived on the world’s red carpet!
Posted: 04 Apr 2009 10:57 AM PDT

And it wasn't just movies going places; the who's who of Indian cinema from composer A.R. Rahman, to the beautiful Aishwary Rai-Bachchan have been instrumental in thrusting India and its entertainment industry into the spotlight. Filmmakers like Deepa Mehta and Mira Nair, who have Indian roots and make movies grounded in Indian issues, only strengthened India's presence abroad. As a result, Indian films are now increasingly common and accepted in the international film festival circuit.
Showcasing this momentum is the seventh annual Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, to be held from April 21-26, in California. The festival has five feature films making their world premiere, five that are making their U.S. premiere, and five films making their L.A. debut. The movies being screened are Nandita Das's directorial debut venture, Firaaq, which looks at the aftermath of the Gujurat violence in 2002; Deepa Mehta's Heaven on Earth about domestic violence; Sooni Taraporevala's poignant comedy Little Zizou; and Nina Paley's animated feature film Sita Sings The Blues. This six-day festival will be kicking off with the worldwide premiere of Anand Surapur's The Fakir of Venice about two con men, and the last movie to be screened will be Megan Doneman's Yes Madam, Sir, a documentary on the celebrated and controversial Dr. Kiran Bedi, In addition to this jam-packed schedule, the IIFLA will be honouring Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor's contribution to Hindi cinema by screening some of his best films like Lamhe, Virasat and Gandhi, My Father. The fest will also salute B.R. Chopra by screening his classic film Naya Daur.
Rounding off the festivities is a dinner in honour of those nominated for the Korn/Ferry International's list of 25 most influential South Asian executives in the U.S. entertainment and media industry. In doing all of this the IIFLA has made itself a "touchstone" in America for Indian cinema.
Not long ago, an outsider's perception of Indian movie was relegated to a song-and-dance routine around the trees, heroes who did outrageous stunts and heroines who have even more outrageous hairstyles. But times have changed and Indian cinema has undergone a metamorphosis that has landed it on the international cinema map, though we've taken a good long while to get there.

Goa is being produced by Soundarya Rajinikanth's Ochre Studios. Due to this, there have been speculations that Rajinikanth's side has shown special interest in Jai's issue and has played a part in obtaining special permission for the actor to take part in the shooting.
The work for Goa has begun. Jai's portions are yet to start. Currently a song involving many dancers is being shot in the beaches. The talkie portions are expected to commence soon. Goa will have all the regular Venkat Prabhu actors like Siva, Vaibhav and Premgi. Sneha will be playing the heroine. Yuvan Shankar Raja scores the music.
Suraaj to do next with Dhanush

With all his films turning to be blockbusters, the filmmaker has merely stated that he would continue making similar films. When asked about his tactics? He said "I am very much concerned about the audiences' tastes…
When they're tiresome and want torelax watching the film, we shouldn't get them irritated by conveying social messages. They must feel happy and entertained spending their times before the screens"….
With 'Padikadhavan' crossing 75 successful days, Suraaj has confirmed that his next film would be with Dhanush himself. At the moment, the actor is busy penning script and will make official announcements sooner.

Surya in an anti hero role in Adhavan

As usual this film will have all the commercial aspects like my other films. This film will not have a separate track for Vadivelu but it will intermingle with the story. More importance will be given for graphics in this film. Harris Jayaraj has composed music for this film. The songs have come out with excellence. The shooting of Jaggubhai starring Sarath Kumar and Shreya has been completed. I will be releasing this film during the month of June. After Adhavan I will be directing Vikram."

Rahman yet has a couple of projects to complete. One is 'Blue', directed by Anthony D'Souza, where a song featuring Kylie Minogue is yet to be done. The song will reportedly have Kylie and Sonu Nigam crooning together and the other is a project from Abbas Tyrewalla.
Now apart from the immense workload that Rahman has to carry apart for the tours that he has to concentrate on, there have also been disturbing rumors circulating on the composer which have thoroughly disturbed him. The recent one, which said he was to replace David Beckham in a mobile phone ad.
Rahman has decided to stay low profile in the coming days so he can concentrate on his work as well as have some quality time for himself.
ARR deserves it, after all the limelight he has been under so far.
