Review ‘Meipporul’, visit America

'Meipporul', a complete cross over film, is all set to hit screens this May 1, and it offers a chance to those who see the movie to make a trip to America.

'Meipporul', or 'Yethi Nijam' in Telugu, holds the distinction of being the first South Indian movie to be shot completely in USA. An edge of the seat thriller, the film is being made by software engineers for software engineers.
The thriller is based completely in the bay area, and is sans usual formulas. It is being jointly directed by Natty Kumar and Krish Bala. Natty is the son of famed producer TN Janakeraman, who has produced popular movies like 'Mogamull'.
Lenin odes the editing while a Hollywood cinematographer Christopher Eldridge cranks the camera. Music is composed by acclaimed Hollywood musician John Mazzei.

Arjun turns Car Racer now

Action King Arjun is well known for maintaining a perfect body shape right from a very long time.

On the pars, so clichéd was his characterizations as a cop or a military officer trying to save the Nation from clutches of evil forces. But for the first time, he's going for a changeover as a car racer.

Aye! The film titled 'Mei Kan' will feature him in that role directed by Major Ravi who earlier made films 'Kandhahar' and 'Aran' as well 'Mission 90 Days'.

Couple of heroines: Tollywood actress Kaverija and debutant Hithishree are starring him opposite in female lead roles while Thilakan, Ganja Karuppu and Sathyan are performing prominent characterizations. Sundar C Babu scores music for the film…

The film was earlier titled 'Adhe Vizhigal' and has been finally named as 'Mei Kan'…

Director Sasi to rope Simbhu or Surya

Director Sasi has been fetching good credits for best directorials though his films doesn't seem to be carrying big star-casts. Sollamalae, Roja Koottam, Dishyum and his recent one 'Poo' has been the best exemplifications.

Each of these films have been proved critically well acclaimed, but hadn't made commercially successful at box office. Thusly, the filmmaker has now shifted his paradigms by penning a gripping action packed thriller.

When approached the closer sources, they've stated that it would be either Surya or Simbhu on the title cards. So, what does the director say about this? 'No idea about these rumors, I haven't approached any actors with my script. But very shortly, it would be finalized" said Sasi who has signed the deal for this film with Moser Baer.

It was really surprising to see Sathyaraj in the costumes of an ancient king at AVM Studios.

Immediately, as we approached the sets and asked the sources, they revealed that he is shooting for a television commercial of a jewelry showroom. 'Wow! A great astonishment' we said.

Of course, actors gearing up for commercial videos aren't something off the wall especially when it comes to Kollywood. But in his career of past 32 years, this is the first time; Sathyaraj is getting on a commercial video.

Actress Seetha and Actor Bhaskar are also included in the star-casts on the role of a queen and court's minister.

Winning the title of 'Padmashree' has really owned good reputation as well new ideas for Actor Vivek.

Vivek made his debut in Kollywood before couple of decades with 'Manadhil Urudhi Vendum'. Later, he turned the spotlights with his satirical comedy tracks.

Of course, he has been felicitated by the Indian Government with this title for such wonderful messages spread on Polio, AIDS, Environmental cleanliness and more.

The actor has assured that he will continue performing similar tracks in his forthcoming films too. Also has totted up that he wouldn't be just appearing in every film as most of the filmmakers cut the comedians' portions when the reel exceeds the limit of running length.

19th step: A big step for Indian cinema

It is no news now that Kamal Haasan will be doing a cameo in a film on martial arts. The Ghajini-star Asin will team up with her 'Dasavatharam' hero again for this film. Asin plays a princess in the film while Kamal plays her guru in martial arts for the movie. Asin is paired with Japanese superstar Tadanobu Asanno for this flick, which is directed by Bharat Bala.
Mention Bharat Bala, and can AR Rahman be far behind? Schoolmates and dear friends, Rahman's most popular independent album, Vande Mataram, was directed by Bharat Bala, as was Jana Gana Mana, which featured India's leading musicians sing or play the national anthem.
AR Rahman will be composing music for '19th Step' as well, and has teamed up with Japanese musician Joe Hisaishi, making the film an interesting musical collaborative venture. The music genius had, in fact, paid an exclusive trip to Japan about two weeks ago, to learn about their music style for this film. Academy Award winning Resul Pookutty will also join hands with Rahman for this ambitious project that will be produced by Walt Disney.

Mani Ratnam plays Raavan to Raavan's shoot

Even as Raavan's shoot has been put on hold, eyes haven't stopped looking in Mani Ratnam's direction, as he is convalescing following a heart attack. The ace director is still in hospital and this is expected to stall the film's shoot for over a month. The plan, originally, was to start a new schedule of shoot in Kerala from tomorrow.
The director, who is still in the hospital, is said to be responding well to treatment. The maverick filmmaker's spokesperson vouches that his health is safe and he should be out from the hospital and on the sets soon.
As of now, only one person has access to the director's ward, and that is his wife Suhasini. It is said that the actress is the one to tell others about his health condition, as he has refused to see anybody else.
Industry bigwigs, all of who has worked with the director, are thronging to see him and convey their wishes. But the director hasn't budged and Suhasini is still the only one to have access to him.
Mani Ratnam's health has postponed shooting, and this is expected to cause delays in the finally release of the film, as the heavy duty star cast of the problem is said to have jam-packed dates.

Why Namitha is cheerful after ‘Arundhathee’

Mythology is back to the fore in enthralling people. 'Arundhathee', and a host of other supernatural flicks that have hit screens, show that people enjoy such films. And the buxom bombshell Namitha is taking consolation in this.
This is because she is currently working on a film with a similar theme, 'Jagan Mohini'. In fact, the film is a remake of the yesteryear hit, in which Jayamalini became a big name owing to her oomph. And Namitha, who already commands better sex appeal among the people, is playing her part in the remake. The film, which she is currently working for, is being made with extensive help from the graphics and visual effects department, to make the movie fleshy and flashy. Raja plays the lead role in this film, for which the heroine is played by Nila.
Namitha is hoping this film will give her the success that has eluded her for long. With her 'Billa' in Telugu not creating flutters, she might be forlorn. But in 'Arundhathee' being made in other languages now, Namitha has hope that 'Jagan Mohini' will give her success. Namitha has also played an important role in 'Indira Vizha', which is yet to see the screens.

James Vick - Budding Musician on the way

Precisely, it doesn't look like his debut film for such happens to be the depth of his musical score. James Vick makes his debut as a music director with Pa. Vijay starrer 'Gnyabagangal'. The musical album goes inclusive of 6 numbers that has the best singers crooning out for it.
Above all the most mesmerizing melody is SP Balasubramaniam. The rest are rendered by Krish, Suchitra, Karthik, Vijitha, Tippu and Anuradha Sriram. James Vick can go ahead making still more better music and filmmakers would really take a note on him now.

Finally Anuja to strike jackpot in Kamal’s flick

When Medias kept buzzing around the air about Trisha and Shriya Charan being roped in for Kamal Haasan's bilingual 'Unnai Pol Oruvan', an actress who wasn't on the main streamline strikes jackpot.

It's all about Actress Anuja who made her debut in Kollywood with 'SIVI', a horror based film remade from Hollywood's 'SHUTTER'.

Later, she peaked to the limelight with her metro based film titled 'Mudhal Mudhal Mudhal Varai'. Now, Kamal Haasan has offered to don the role of a journalist in his forthcoming remake of Bollywood blockbuster 'A Wednesday'.

Actress Anuja says that she had to go through auditions that had around 40 on the lists and at last, she was finalized.

‘Pokkesham is close to my heart’ - Cheran

Director Cheran had to go through such circumstances that urged him to pick up a new form with 'Autograph'. Director Mysskin had to strive making it into Tamil film industry after lots of hardest efforts. With his 'Chithiram Pesuthadi, he won appraisals that was followed by 'Anjathey'.
