Now, he says 'From now onwards, it's my duty to work for the well being of society and once I get full-fledged into politics, I would take up only few projects'.

Recently, the alluring missy of Bollywood Asin signed a deal with Big Bazaar along with MS Dhoni, the smart cricketer in town. One of the sources revealed that earlier, before a month photo shoot that included both Dhoni and Asin were shot extensively.
Now, a commercial advertisement would be shot once MS Dhoni is back from New Zealand Tour. Buzzes are that it's the ever costliest deal that Asin has signed so far in her career. Asin's recent commercial for Miranda have really captured everyone's interest.
The reason is that Asin's characterization in all her ads goes in a friendly way of promoting the brand.

'Kettavan' will come: Simbu interview
Posted: 26 Mar 2009 06:36 AM PDT
To clarify, we asked Simbu himself about this and he responded with which 'kettavan' had said so?"When we set out for the shooting, we had to change the story a bit because of circumstances. It was not nice to ask the producer for more money, so I bought the film. The script work is going on, so shooting has not yet started. Once the screenplay is pucca, I will give life to 'Kettavan' definitely,"said Simbu.
But why the title of 'Kettavan'?
"The concept is the difference between how a good man falls in love and how a bad man does. Hence the title. The word 'different' is a crashing bore, but one can't describe this with any other word. .'Kettavan' will definitely be a very different kind of film."
Now to the clichéd last question. Are you a good guy or bad guy?
"Make a survey of who is good and who is bad in the country and then I'll tell you,"he murmured and wrangled out of a direct answer!

The oomph girl, who has been part of many films, from Vijay's 'Pokkiri' to Vikram's forthcoming 'Kanthaswamy', is all set to be launched as a heroine in a thriller, 'Pournami Naagam'.
The movie, a thriller as its name suggests, is based on the changes both physical and geographical, which happen on a full moon day. Directed by Yaar Kannan, the film has music by SA Rajkumar. Mumaith Khan may be the girl gone wild now, it may be recalled that she played an important action role in her Telugu film, 'Myssiamma IPS' which was later dubbed and released in Tamil as 'Gayatri IPS'.

26 children in 'Rettai Chuzhi'
Posted: 26 Mar 2009 06:07 AM PDT
The Iyakkunar Imayam and Iyakkunar Sigaram have stood behind the camera and created the Superstar and Kalaignani. Now they will both face the camera in 'Rettai Chuzhi' and the lucky person to direct them is Thamira.
Thamira shares his experience of having directed them.
"The film 'Rettai Chuzhi' is about the pranks, spats and mock anger of 2 grown-up kids. The story encompasses the realistic side of these two. On several occasions, I have seen the child part of these two men that the society has not seen. When I told Shankar sir the story, I did not mention the names of Bharatiraja or Balachander. But at the second meeting, I showed a drawing of all of them."Are you sure this is possible? It would be nice,"said he enthusiastically. He said he would speak to them himself and went personally to meet them despite his busy schedule. I was happy they liked the story too. After 32 years, I made them play sozhikaai. I am thrilled to see a new Balachander and Bharatiraja that even I have not known. How 2 giants in the film industry can without ego behave like kids cannot be delineated so realistically and it surprises and awes me more and more each day!
More than anyone else, these 2 people know the respect a director commands. They have such large hearts to accept the feelings and opinions of this young lad when they come to the shooting spot. Like a concerned teacher or an affectionate father, each of them come to me and ask if it Ok, to check if it has come out as desired. There is absolutely no domination. How would a child feel towards its mother? After reading my short story, Balachander sir took me on as an assistant. Similarly, Bharatiraja sir read my short story and said with modesty,"You seem to be able to write with feeling. You start and I will try to act according to whatever you need,"and blessed me.
They are both generous to cooperate with an artiste from the bottom of their hearts. They appreciate the value of words and shower respect on the writers. There are 24 child stars in the film. Add these 2 and it makes a total of 26 kids!
The hero is a new boy called Akhil. Anjali is the heroine. I wonder how many others would suit such realistic roles. They have surrendered to their characters they play."

"Sasikumar is travelling on high speed. He is even doing things that I have only been able to plan, not execute. At this scenario in Kollywood, when directors are queuing up before leading actors, Sasi has travelled the road less trod by doing a film for children.
But this courage to do things differently must have come for Kamal Haasan, who is a forerunner in all the different attempts that we are doing today". Said Ameer.
"When he was in his prime, he decided to produce a film and tried acquiring Sathyaraj's dates to do 'Kadamai Kanniyam Kattupaadu'. And when hero-centric films were the order of the day, he produced a film with just three heroines, 'Magalir Mattum'," he added, calling Kamal Haasan the inspiration for most in the industry today, including Sasi Kumar and himself.

and Asin is the root cause for it. With his confession, Asin can now heave a sigh of relief.

R Rathinavelu handles camera for one song in the film Ninaithale Inikkum

Our cinematographer Balasubramaniam is handling the camera for the Dhanush starrer Kutti. So he had to go to Orissa for shooting of this film. So I had requested Rathinavelu who is currently wielding the camera for Rajnikanth's starrer Endhiran to handle the camera for one song. Since he was my friend he agreed to do one song. So we shot the song Sexy Lady Kitta Vaadi. Telugu actress Kausa has shaken her legs for this song. This film will be released in the last week of May."

Kollywood - It’s all bounded with horror genres

Let's glimpse through past three months of Kollywood's bible. Vijay's 'Villu' and Dhanush starrer 'Padikadhavan' were expected to be the top-charting flicks of the season, but they flunked terribly. However, made at low-budget 'Kadhalna Summa Illa' entertained audiences. Later, it was Bala's 'Naan Kadavul' making high waves. But it all ended there..
All of sudden there happens to be more films based on horrors and supernatural thrillers. Madhavan's 'Yaavarum Nalam' witnessed a grand success where there were repeat audiences indeed. Certainly, it's for the time a supernatural thriller was spotted having repeated audiences. On the pars, last week's release 'Arundhathi' was nowhere far from it. For the first time in the history, a Telugu dubbed version was released with more prints and took for a great show. The theatres were fully loaded with house packed shows and they were stunning applause at many portions.
In the forthcoming weeks, there were would couple of Malayalam's dubbed flicks 'Thanthiran' and 'Sivapuram' based on horror genres. 'Sivapuram' – remake of a Malayalam film 'Ananda Badram' directed by Santhosh Sivan was a blockbuster.
So, let's catch out this interesting films ready for release on the row.. .
From 'Subramaniapuram' to 'Ananthapuram'
Posted: 26 Mar 2009 04:29 AM PDT
Earlier, Telugu's leading producers had talks with Sasi Kumar in remaking 'Subramaniapuram' in Telugu. Perhaps, there were few barriers while penning the polished version to suit Telugu style. 'Shifting the locations of 1980 and cultural adjustments weren't really a good idea of savoring to the tastes of Tollywood audiences' said one of the closest sources.
Finally, producers backed off from remaking and instead dubbed it. The Telugu version is now titled as 'Ananthapuram 1980'. As Swathi haps to be a famous actress in town, producers are expecting good results for the film.
