Iteam Girls wanted!

Not all but most of the Tamil movies have an "Item Song" just to keep the audience going. Tamil film industry turns to three main girls for their item song; Tejashree, Mumaith Khan and Rahasiya.

Lately these girls are very busy with offers of heroine roles, so they movie to Suja and Sona. Suja and Sona are getting lots of offers and film producers are trying to find new item girls.

Chaya Singh IN and Meera Jasmine OUT

Meera Jasmine was recently ousted from 'Ananthapurathu Veedu' produced by director Shankar's 'S' Pictures. Directed by Naaga, the movie features Nandha in the lead role.
Naga had earlier directing tele-serials. Though the reasons for Meera's ouster has not been made known, it is now understood that Chaya Singh has replaced her and the shooting begins very soon.
This probably comes as a boon to Chaya Singh as she had just a solitary release this year in 'Vallamai Tharayo'.
'Ananthapurathu Veedu' is sci-fi thriller and would bring audiences to the edges of their seat, sources said.

Vishal and Shriya?

Actor Vishal is paring up with sizzling actress Shriya for his up coming venture. The movie has been titled Thoranai, which is produced by his home banner GK Films. The film will start shooting in December with the director Iyappan. Expect it to be a masala entertainer.

Once your become popular you can expect the rumours to fallow you! Same thing happened to Shriya, she was bombarded with rumours.
Now it was rumoured that she was in love with cricket player Sreesanth. Both of them took part in a fashion show, which was held in Mumbai. It was said that they had dinner together.
Shriya denied this to be just another rumour when she was asked. She said she is committed to her work and she can not focus on anything else. Shriya went on to say she never even met Sreesanth or even spoke to him.

Unlike other actress, I don't want to take up many projects and wouldn't be able to focus on anyone of them says actress Anjali.

Actress Anjali started here acting career with the movie Kattradhu Tamizh and won the best accolades from every corner of the film industry.
Her next movie Aayudham Seivoam, however, shows her poor chooses in choosing films that she should act in. This movie did not give importance to her character and didn't even give her a chance to show her acting abilities.

'Aruvadai' on Pongal

Mammootty's bilingual 'Vande Matharam' which is also made in Tamil titled 'Aruvadai' is now charted as a Pongal release. As per the new schedule ,the movie will now grace the theatres as an early release of 2009. The film starring Arjun and Sneha as a part of the cast has left out sequences which has to be canned before it is termed completed.
If 'Vande Matharam' which was earlier expected as a Christmas release gets shifted, then Mammootty will be in a difficult situation with three of his big releases coming out in the month of January.
Arjun's recently out 'Dhurai' is making a mark in the box office with his continual in 'Thiruvanamalai' and Sneha, the nandi award winner is awaiting her releases 'Silambattam' opposite Simbhu and Aruvadai. The movie in the combination of Mammooty, Arjun and Sneha might make it big with its elegant star cast.

Asin not in 'Marma Yogi'

Denying all the speculations which were saying that Asin would once again share the screen with Kamal Haasan for a cameo role in 'Marma Yogi', the actress has now confirmed that there is no fact in it.
The talented actress who has reached incredible heights in her career co-stars with Salman khan and Ajay Devgan in 'London Dreams' and she has been back to Mumbai recently after completing the shoot for the film for 45 days in London and Paris.
Asin's next venture includes 'The 19th step', produced by Walt Disney, which would have Kamal Haasan and acclaimed Japanese actor Tadanobu. This multi-lingual film which is to be made in Tamil, English and Japanese will be directed by Bharat Bala who has made hundreds of classic commercials and also has directed acclaimed music videos including 'Vande Mataram' and 'Pray for me brother' of Maestro A.R.Rahman.
'The 19th step' will be the first Indian film on martial arts; it speaks about 'Kalaripayattu', which is claimed to be the source of all Oriental martial art forms.
And what is foremost interesting is Asin plays the role of a Japanese princess that can even turn other actresses green with envy.

An evergreen actress indeed! Meena has been fetching the best credits on her part right from the day she started performing before the lens. Though Kuselan didn't do extremely well at box-office, Meena won her laurels for the best performance over there. At present, she is simultaneously acting in various projects. Vijayakanth's Mariyaadhai directed by Vikraman depicts her in the female lead role. At the same time, she is excited about performing female lead in Kannada version of 'Autograph'. Meena would be playing the exact characterization that Sneha had enacted.

Aayirathil Oruvan's shooting is more or less over and sources have it that Karthi's portion in the film is almost complete. The latest buzz in Kollywood is that the film has a song akin to the Chandramukhi's Ra Ra style. This particular song in Aayirathil Oruvan is based on the weird happenings that occurred
about 200 years ago. Will this song prove to be a chartbuster just like Ra Ra?

Vaaranam & Silambattam sold to TV!

The battle between Sun TV and Kalaignar TV seems to have intensified. Recently, Azhagiri's son Durai Dayanidhi had bought the rights of Vaaranam Aayiram and Silambaatam.
So far fans could get a glimpse of Vaaranam Aayiram only on Kalaignar TV. The situation was no different
where Sun TV productions are concerned. With this competition getting deeper, monopoly seems to be creeping in the world of television. Bagging of exclusive rights also means that only Kalaignar TV gets to telecast the trailers of both the movies.

Marma Yogi - Sun vs Saimira?

Although the photo shoots and initial groundwork of Marma Yogi are over, the movie has not taken off yet. Initial speculations also averred that Marma Yogi will kick off during September last week or October. In the midst, there was also news that Trisha and Shriya being asked to concentrate on their other projects. Latest in the series of news is that
Sun Pictures and Saimira are contending for the production rights of the movie.
When contacted, SUN Pictures' Managing Director Saxena mentioned that talks were on in that direction, however nothing has been finalized. On the contrary, spokesperson from Saimira declared that the project has been bagged by them and that shooting is proposed to start from second week of November.
More updates in this regard awaited.

Yuvan Shankar Raja has been so close to Selvaraghavan right from the early days of his career. But then, as three of these special personalities; Selvaraghavan, Yuvan and cinematographer Aravind Krishna split up, they had to give up their joint venture of production as 'White Elephants'.
Finally, Selvaraghavan opted for G.V. Prakash to score music for his forthcoming flick 'Aayirathil Oruvan' starring Paruthiveeran fame Karthi, Reema Sen, Andrea and Parthiban in lead roles. Soon after getting completed with this project, Selvaraghavan will kick-start his next project featuring new faces in the lead role and A.R. Rahman has signed to score music for the film…

Wow! This is something viewers shouldn't miss for Yuvan Shankar Raja has openly spoke about his present life and career. Earlier, he used to utter not more than 4 words for every question we put forth on him. But now, turning into producer has made great changes in him.
"Earlier I and Selvaraghavan had planned to launch production house together along with Cinematographer Aravind Krishna 'White Elephants'. But we had to get separated due to difference of opinions. Now I am about launching my production house called 'Pink Productions'. What's so special about Pink? Ruby is most precious gem in the world and it possesses Pink Color. So, I have named my production with it. My first project is with RJ turned actor Siva and Sabapathy directs the film. It's a romance based subject and we haven't finalized about other star-casts and crewmembers for the film".
"Also I have plans to make film with top-charting mass heroes and soon announcements would be made" says Yuvan Shankar Raja who is sure about not getting into acting. When asked about his foreign tours for composing tunes, he smiles saying, "its bit irksome for everyone sitting inside 4 walls of studios and keeps striking chords for getting tunes. So some of my close friend directors and me fleet to exotic locations of Bangkok and other places for tuning melodies. Sometimes, it's so comedic that we won't be getting good tunes over there and as we shore on Meenambakkam, there are some tunes we get on with."
"Well, I hate sitting on the shores of Maldives. You know why? I get to see many couples romancing together and I sitting lonely on the shore with guitar in my hand" Ask about loneliness, he speaks openly, "it's nice to see rain showering from the clouds. But the very next day as you have to stamp through the dampening soil filled with waters, it's quite distressing. Of course, this is something relevant to all our lives… There are happiness and sadness; everyone must be handling everything".

Mani Ratnam impressed by Rajni’s Sivaji

Impressed by the stunts in Sivaji – The Boss, ace director Mani Ratnam has roped in the stunt director Peter Hains for his forthcoming bilingual film Ravan. Peter Hains has carved a niche for himself in the Indian film industry by choreographing stunt scenes for various films including Sivaji, Gajini (Hindi version) and Anniyan.

The film's shooting had to be stalled when the lead pair, Abishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, were held up in Mumbai owing to the ill health of Amitabh Bachchan. Sources have it that shooting will recommence after Diwali.
Ravan – the Hindi version - stars Abishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead role with Vikram playing the antagonist. In the Tamil version Vikram and Aishwarya Rai play the lead roles and Prithviraj plays the villain role.

Mumbai model Sanaa Khan has been paired with Simbu in his upcoming film 'Silambattam'.
Silambattam Music Album got released on 20th of October. Silambattam, stars Silambarasan and debutante Sana Khan in the lead roles. Cinematographer Saravanan directs this film which has Simbu in the role of a Hindu, Brahmin priest. Prabhu plays the role of an inspector in 'Silambattam'. Yuvan Shankar Raja composes the music. It will be the first time, that Simbu plays a Hindu priest. Silambarasan in Silambattam cast two heroines Sneha and Sana Khan and most part of the movie was filmed in temple locations as the hero himself is a "Kovil Poojari" (Temple Priest). Let's worship the Gods with Simbu and Silambattam in November.

Jai has been creating waves in the Tamil film industry. First with Chennai 28 and later on with his astounding performance in Subramaniapuram. However, the actor made his debut in Vijay's film Bagavathi. The actor is quite busy nowadays with four films in his kitty including Aval Peyar Thamizharasi and Adhe Neram Adhe Idam. Jai had
been participating in the shooting of Adhe Neram Adhe Idam for which a stunt sequence was being filmed under the supervision of Super Subbarayan's son Dilip.
Unfortunately, the actor had an accident on the sets during the filming of this stunt sequence and suffered a fracture in his leg. He was admitted to a nearby private hospital where the doctors are treating him.

Though not in abroad locations, Lingusamy spots the best locations in Mumbai. Yup! his forthcoming flick that's a remake of Telugu movie 'Vikramadhityadu' featuring Karthi, Nayanthara and Anuksha in lead roles will hit the floors soon. First shooting schedule for the film has been planned in Mumbai from month of January. At present, Karthi is busy working on the patch-up works of Aayirathil Oruvan while Nayanthara is despaired moods is shooting for Vijay's Villu.
Lingusamy travelled all the way from Chennai to Mumbai by his car to fix the locations…
