The character played by Mithun Chakraborty has been totally done away with in the remake. The main villain will be played by Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor will play another negative character. n a small Indian Village Mandwa, Vijay Dinanath Chauhan (Hrithik Roshan) is taught about the path of fire (Agneepath) by his principled father. His life is shattered completeley when the evil drug lord Kancha Cheena (Sanjay Dutt) hangs his father to death, Vijay leaves for Bombay with his pregnant mother, and takes an oath that he will return back to Mandwa and bring back the glory of his fathers name and take revenge against Kancha Cheena.

In Bombay, 12 Year old Vijay is taken under the wings of the cities drug lord Rauf Lala (Rishi Kapoor). From here on it is a journey of revenge where he makes and breaks many relationships only to get closer to his aim. Vijay finds support in his only friend Kaali (Priyanka Chopra), who stands by him at every moment of his life. Already it is reported to our viewers that the critically acclaimed Telugu film 'Vedam' directed by Krish is all set to be remade in Tamil soon and Simbu is going to play Allu Arjun's role 'Cable Raju' in Tamil version along with Manoj, Anushka and Nagayya in the same roles as they did in Telugu version.

It is also said that the Tamil version has been titled as 'Vaanam' and RB Chowdhary's son Jithan Ramesh will be producing the Tamil version and producing it on 'Super Good Films' banner. Now the latest news is that the film was launched unofficially on Saturday, 10th of this month and the regular shooting of the film will be commencing from today.

Sources say that Simbu is doing this new project in simultaneously with his earlier project 'Poda Podi'.

This presentation is a five-part collection of the most memorable and landmark performances of India's greatest actress, Sridevi. Thankfully, Sridevi has left behind an incredible body of work that spans decades, genres, and languages. She has not settled for being a mere glamorous ornament in hero-centric films: she has established a new paradigm for what it means to be an actress in India, and done so by redefining the limits of the the types of roles a leading lady could play.

Indeed, with the notable exception of Amitabh Bachchan (and perhaps not even with that exception), Sridevi has played the most distinct and dynamic variety of landmark roles in Indian Cinema: a mentally retarded prostitute (Sadma), a comic journalist/drag queen/superheroine (Mr. India), a serpent avatar (Nagina), a pair of twins -- one a victim of domestic abuse, the other a drunken misfit superstar wannabe (Chaalbaaz), an aggrandized, cherubic romantic (Chandni), the double role of a woman who falls in love with a man who was once in love with her mother (Lamhe), a tribal Afghani Queen ravaged by the presumed death of her husband (Khuda Gawah, another double role), a star-crossed Punjabi lover (Heer Ranjha), a vengeful conwoman (Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja), a wrongly accused drug smuggler imprisoned in China (Gumrah), a monstrously powerful corporate Hell Queen (Laadla), a scatter-brained modern woman who gets caught up in a comic crime caper (Hairaan), an implacable widow in pursuit of justice for her husband's murder (Army), a reluctant adoptive mother (Mr. Bechara) and an impoverished housewife who literally sells her husband to another woman in order to acquire material wealth (Judaai). Whilst other actresses have managed to forge careers with remarkably little acting, Sridevi has built a repertoire comparable only to a few other actors in the world.

These 14 roles encapsulate the behemoth of talent and brilliance that is Sridevi. She not only tore down many barriers and opened up new doors for herself and other actresses, but she proved that she could take mediocre material (sometimes even downright bad writing) and make it not only palatable, but brilliant. In my opinion, her three finest performances are (in order) 1) Lamhe, 2) Sadma, and 3) Chaalbaaz.

Khalid Mohammed, India's premiere film critic, perhaps put it best when he wrote of Sridevi in 1996: "She has meant so much to all of us. The Queen of the Marquee for over a decade. The Supreme Entertainer. The heroine whose performances have lit up our lives in the dark of the auditorium. The bundle of energy and elan who was, without question, born to act."

Jayam Ravi's "Engeyum Kaadhal" (Love is everywhere)

Few days back it was already reported that Jayam Ravi and Hansika Motwani starrer Prabhu Deva directed latest forthcoming flick 'Ich' has been renamed as 'Engeyum Kaadhal' (Love is everywhere) which was officially confirmed and announced by the film unit. It was also said that the audio of the film will be released on October 3rd at Sathyam Cinemas.

The movie is said to be a romantic musical entertainer and there is also a buzz that Prabhu Deva will be making his appearance in the starting of the film to introduce the characters of the movie played by Jayam Ravi and Hansika Motwani.

This film is a jolly and cheerful love film. Normally the man will have the love for woman but in this it is the just opposite. A woman loves a man. A girl who lives in France loves a boy who goes from here. The whole film was shot in France.

Don't tell like that. Tell that he is Siruthai's film lover. There want be a slightest shade of Paiyya in this film. He has changed his looks. He has excelled in every individual scene. I was very much impressed with Karthi. He is donning the role of a pickpocket. It is a very energetic character. There will be a fantastic romantic comedy at the first meeting itself.

You are always flying. Don't you have the idea of settling in Chennai?

I am very home sick. I always feel like going home in Mumbai after completing my work. My father, mother and friends are all there. I am not able to leave them. That is the reason for not acquiring a house here.

When are you going to act with senior actors?

I definitely have that desire. I want to act with Rajni and Kamal sirs. But the opportunity is yet to come. I also got lots of desire to act in films directed by Manirathnam, Shankar, Gowtham Menon, Sasikumar and Radha Mohan. After five years when I turn back and see, I should have the satisfaction that I had acted in good roles. I always feel that whatever work we do, we should do it with dedication and sincerity.

Who are your close friends in Tamil cinema?

Poonam Bajwa and Vedhika are my very close friends. We three always go for shopping. We also go to restaurants regularly. Please believe me that I have no boyfriends. I wish everyone and all a happy Pongal.

Rajini has recently proved with the success of Endhiran that the year 2010 belongs to him,but will Kamal snatch away the glory with his year-end release - Manmadhan Ambu?

Most of Kamal's films which released soon after a blockbuster from Rajini, have turned out to be smash hits.

Thenali after Padayappa, Vasool Raja MBBS after Chandramukhi and Dasavatharam following Sivaji were all smash hits. Can we expect this magic to continue for Kamal with MA hitting the screens after Endhiran?

Kamal Haasan in a statement to his fans stated that he has deleted the song which had hurt the sentiments of Hindus. In the statement Kamal Haasan has mentioned:

"Greetings to all my beloved sweet fans,

I have come to know that a song which I have written for Manmadhan Ambu has hurt the feelings of the Hindus. The Censor Board who has censored this film has also permitted this song since this does not have any lines that would hurt the feelings of anyone. This song was also telecast in Vijay TV three times and had a good reception. I would have released this film with the song with the Censor Board certification if the film was produced by me. This is Red Giant Movies film. Since this film is being produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin and should be viewed by members of all religions, we had come forward to delete this song though thousands of people have enjoyed this song.

In my family there are Vaishnavites, Saivites, Muslims and Christians. Most of them are believers. They are not like me. I am a rationalist and atheist. It is like that and it will continue to be so.

Manmadhan Ambu is a business. That also it is another person's business. I am only an artist. I am not new to political obstacles. This film was made with the intention to entertain. So I have made this decision to sacrifice this song for it should not die in this turbulence of religion and politics.

Director Shankar is the Indian of the Year.

Accolades and honors never seem to stop for director Shankar ever since Endhiran's release. The film is a runaway success and people cannot stop raving about it. Still running to packed houses, Endhiran/Robot has earned the producers much more than they have invested as we hear that it has broken all box office records thus far.

The latest honor that is being bestowed on this director is the Indian of the Year Award from CNN-IBN. Shankar will be in Delhi to receive this award on December 22nd 2010.
